Arts Overlay District

Arts Alliance of Lemon Bay, Inc.

Started by a “grass-roots” effort, supported by the Business and Residential communities.  This district would lay on top of current zoning, allow for resident artists to display and sell their products.   Part of the consideration for this overlay district is that of an incentive for property owners to physically improve their properties.  It would relieve the homeowner of the cost of re-zoning, which could run approximately $4,000.00/home.  Also, it is considered to be a “soft expansion” of the business district of Dearborn Street by inviting pedestrian traffic to flow off Dearborn Street and into the Arts Overlay District or RCTOD.
